The Death of RIM

My first smartphone was a BlackBerry 8830 World Edition, and at the time, I thought it was a pretty big deal. I could update my social networks from a mobile device, check email, and browse the internet. Blackberry phones used to be the pinnacle of not only the business savvy, but the technologically sophisticated.

This phone was the gateway smartphone that kept me connected with the rest of the world at all times. Then iPhones and Android started to dominate the market. The beginning of the death of RIM could not have been swifter than it has been. The infographic below looks at the history, rise, and fall of RIM and the BlackBerry. RIP, old friend.

    I was a die hard Blackberry user until my 8530 died. I have now switched to Android and I love it! The capabilities of the Android/Samsung Galaxy II were too much of a pull.

    The blackberry moment has gone. It’s time for other vendors to be alive and hype. It’s just about time. It will be dead soon.
