Finally, after lots of testing I bring to you the Molotov iScream! It was my first time working with a Flash application designed for mobile, and I’m really excited to have it published in the Android Marketplace!
Here’s a little bit about the app…
The Molotov iScream is the first application from Molotov Theatre Group, a non-profit theatre company dedicated to reviving and preserving the Grand Guignol tradition of horror theatre. With the Molotov iScream, it’s Halloween all year long.
- 20+ screams or sound effects (including ‘signature’ screams from Molotov company members and memorable lines or sound effects from the Molotov productions)
- Set timed screams
- Scare friends by setting a trap that plays a scream when your phone is moved
- Send screams to friends via email
Pretty sweet, huh?
The app is currently for sale in the Android Marketplace and it’s really helping out a good cause, and with that good cause, I present to you an online demo of the app!
One of the odd things with the Android Marketplace is that most searching has to be done on the the device itself, with the exception of a few sites. Thankfully, I found out about Android Zoom, that not only lets people search for apps, but they have a way of means of purchasing them through the site as well. It turns out the Molotov iScream has been indexed on the site already and they offer a neat little embeddable widget for selling the app.
Finally, your device needs to be running Android 2.2 in order to run this snazzy app. Here’s the specs from Adobe
Mobile System Requirements
- Android devices
- Google Android™ 2.2 operating system
- ARMv7-A processor with vector FPU
- OpenGL ES 2
- H.264 and AAC hardware decoders
- 256MB of RAM
Note: Adobe AIR currently requires Android 2.2 to be installed on your phone and may require you to download the AIR runtime from the Android Market. The upgrade path to Android 2.2 for your phone will depend on the specific device, manufacturer, operator, and region.
There will be future features and additions made to the app as the project progresses.
Again, props and shout outs to all of the people that made this possible.
